Clean the weld area thoroughly and remove fatigued or damaged metal where required. Grinding may be used, or Eagle 188 airless gouging electrodes can be used for weld preparation.

Use the lowest effective amperage while maintaining approximately 1/2"–3/4" stick-out. Use a stringer-bead technique where maximum strength is required.

Eagle 823FGS is an all-position gas-shielded flux-cored wire designed to produce strong, dependable welds on carbon steel.

Its soft, stable arc and fast-freeze weld puddle make out-of-position welding easier to control while producing very little spatter. It can be used with either 75/25 Ar/CO₂ or 100% CO₂ shielding gas.
