High-Strength Electrode for Alloy Steel Joining, Manganese Repair and Hardfacing Underlay

Eagle 807 is a high-strength, high-deposition electrode designed for joining high-alloy steels to low-alloy steels, repairing manganese components, and providing a tough cushion layer beneath hardfacing deposits.

Its ductile weld deposit is engineered to resist cracking under heavy impact, making Eagle 807 an excellent choice for demanding repair applications on crusher components, machinery parts, frog points, rolls, mantles and manganese bucket lips.

With approximately 100,000 psi tensile strength and 40% elongation, Eagle 807 provides an excellent combination of strength and ductility for difficult maintenance and repair work.

Strong. Ductile. Built for Difficult Repairs.

Eagle 807 is recommended for:

Joining high-alloy steel to low-alloy steel
Manganese steel repair
Manganese bucket lips
Crusher hammers
Crusher rolls
Crusher mantles
Frog points
Machinery repair
Build-up applications
Cushion layers beneath hardfacing

Especially useful for components exposed to heavy impact and demanding repair conditions.

Clean the weld area thoroughly and remove fatigued or damaged metal before welding.

When welding manganese steel, remove the hardened surface layer before welding. Preheating manganese steel is not recommended.

Use a medium to short arc length and weld in the flat or horizontal position. Peening the deposit while hot can help reduce residual stresses. Allow the component to cool slowly after welding.

Eagle 807 is a high-deposition, high-strength repair electrode designed to produce tough, non-cracking weld deposits under heavy impact.

Its combination of approximately 100,000 psi tensile strength and 40% elongation provides both strength and ductility, making it particularly valuable for difficult alloy-steel and manganese repair applications.

Why Eagle 807?

Excellent for dissimilar steels — designed for joining high-alloy steels to lower-alloy steels.

Tough under heavy impact — high ductility helps the weld deposit resist cracking in demanding service.

Manganese repair capability — useful for repairing manganese bucket lips, crusher components and other manganese wear parts.

Excellent hardfacing underlay — can be used as a tough cushion layer before applying harder wear-resistant alloys.

807 or 614?

I’d add this comparison because both products can come up around manganese repair.

Choose Eagle 807 when you need a high-strength, highly ductile repair alloy, especially for joining dissimilar alloy steels or creating a tough cushion layer beneath hardfacing.

Choose Eagle 614 when the primary job is joining and rebuilding manganese steel with a work-hardening manganese deposit.

In simple terms:
807 = high-strength, ductile repair + cushion layer
614 = manganese joining + work hardening
