Gasless Hardfacing Wire for Severe Abrasion

Eagle 561GL is a high-chromium, self-shielded open-arc hardfacing wire designed for components exposed to severe abrasive wear. It produces a highly wear-resistant deposit with a hardness of approximately 60–63 HRC and requires no external shielding gas, making it well suited for shop, field and mobile hardfacing applications.

Ideal for agriculture, construction, aggregate, mining and heavy equipment repair, Eagle 561GL is recommended for hardfacing augers, buckets, screw conveyors, bucket teeth, ripper teeth, pump impellers, tamper feet and crusher parts.

No Gas. Built for Severe Wear.

Eagle 561GL is recommended for:

Augers
Buckets
Bucket teeth
Screw conveyors
Ripper teeth
Pump impellers
Tamper feet
Crusher parts
Aggregate equipment
Mining and heavy equipment wear surfaces

Designed for parts subjected to severe abrasive wear.

DC Reverse [+] Polarity

Use the lowest effective amperage while maintaining approximately 1½" stick-out, plus or minus ¼". Apply either stringer beads or weave beads depending on the application.
For best results, limit the hardfacing deposit to a maximum of two layers.

Eagle 561GL is a high-chromium, self-shielded hardfacing wire engineered for severe abrasive wear.

Its open-arc formulation produces a hard, wear-resistant deposit of approximately 60–63 Rockwell C while eliminating the need for external shielding gas.

Why Eagle 561GL?

No shielding gas required — ideal for field, outdoor and mobile hardfacing.

Severe abrasion resistance — 60–63 HRC deposit provides strong protection against aggressive wear.

Built for wear components — excellent for augers, buckets, crusher parts, screw conveyors and ripper teeth.

High-chromium deposit — designed for demanding industrial and heavy-equipment applications.

561GL or 563GL?

Choose 561GL when the primary problem is severe abrasion and you want maximum wear resistance from a gasless hardfacing wire.

Choose 563GL when the application combines high abrasion with more moderate impact.
In simple terms:

561GL = severe abrasion focused
563GL = high abrasion + moderate impact
