Gas-Shielded Hardfacing Wire for Severe Abrasion

Eagle 560FGS is an all-position chromium carbide hardfacing wire designed for applications exposed to severe abrasive wear with slight impact. It produces a hard, wear-resistant deposit with a hardness of approximately 58–61 HRC, making it an excellent choice for protecting high-wear components in demanding industrial service.

Ideal for agriculture, mining, aggregate, construction and heavy equipment repair, Eagle 560FGS is well suited for hardfacing screw conveyors, augers, buckets, bucket teeth, ripper teeth, tamper feet and pump impellers.

Built for Severe Abrasion.

Eagle 560FGS is recommended for:

Screw conveyors
Augers
Buckets
Bucket teeth
Ripper teeth
Tamper feet
Pump impellers
Heavy equipment wear surfaces
Mining and aggregate equipment

Designed for components subject to severe abrasion with slight impact.

DC Reverse [+] Polarity

Clean the weld area thoroughly and remove fatigued or damaged metal before hardfacing. A grinder may be used, or Eagle 188 airless gouging electrodes can be used where additional material removal is required.

Use the lowest effective amperage while maintaining approximately 1/2"–3/4" stick-out. Apply either stringer beads or weave beads depending on the application.

For best results, limit the deposit to a maximum of two layers.

Eagle 560FGS is an all-position chromium carbide hardfacing wire engineered for high resistance to abrasive wear.

With a deposited hardness of approximately 58–61 Rockwell C, it provides dependable protection for components exposed primarily to severe abrasion.

Why Eagle 560FGS?

Severe abrasion resistance — chromium carbide deposit helps protect components exposed to aggressive abrasive wear.

Gas-shielded performance — designed for consistent weld quality and controlled hardfacing in shop and production environments.

Built for wear components — excellent for augers, screw conveyors, buckets, ripper teeth and pump impellers.
All-position capability — provides flexibility for hardfacing components that cannot always be positioned flat.

560FGS or 561GL / 563GL?

Choose 560FGS when you want a gas-shielded chromium carbide hardfacing wire for severe abrasion and have shielding gas available.

Choose 561GL when you want gasless severe-abrasion hardfacing.

Choose 563GL when the application combines high abrasion with more moderate impact, and you also want a self-shielded wire.
In simple terms:
560FGS = gas-shielded severe abrasion
561GL = gasless severe abrasion
563GL = gasless high abrasion + moderate impact
