Eagle 316L-16 is a low-carbon stainless steel electrode designed for welding Type 316 chromium-nickel stainless steel.
The alloy contains approximately 2β3% molybdenum in addition to chromium and nickel. Molybdenum improves resistance to localized corrosion, particularly pitting, making 316-type stainless suitable for more demanding corrosive service than many common 300-series stainless grades.

Choose Eagle 316L-16 when welding 316 stainless steel and corrosion resistance is the priority.
Choose Eagle 308L-16 when welding common 300-series stainless steels such as 304 to themselves.
Choose Eagle 309L-16 when joining stainless steel to carbon steel or other dissimilar steels.
In simple terms:
