Fully Machinable Cast Iron Electrode for Precision Repair

Eagle 194 is a high-nickel, all-position cast iron electrode designed to produce a soft, fully machinable weld depositwith low heat input.

It is well suited for repairs on engine blocks, cylinder heads, housings, transmissions and gears, and can also be used for build-up and joining steel to cast iron.

Eagle 194 produces porosity-free weld deposits on cast iron and is a strong choice when the finished repair may need to be drilled, tapped, filed or machined.

Designed for cast iron applications where low heat input and machinability are important.

Use AC or DC Straight [–] Polarity.

Prepare and clean the weld area thoroughly. Groove out cracks and damaged material as required. Eagle 188 airless gouging electrodes may be used for weld preparation.
Use the lowest effective amperage while maintaining a short-to-medium arc length.

Make short weld deposits approximately 1"–1-1/2" long using a skip-weld technique to help reduce heat input.

Peen the weld while hot to help reduce internal stresses, and allow the casting to cool slowly.

Eagle 194 is a high-nickel, all-position, low-heat cast iron electrode designed to produce porosity-free weld deposits.

Its approximately 160 BH hardness produces a soft, machinable deposit suited for precision cast-iron repair.
