High-Strength Nickel Silver Alloy for Build-Up, Repair and Joining

Eagle 1850 FC is a flexible flux-coated nickel silver alloy designed for build-up and joining of carbon steels, alloy steels and cast iron.

It is especially well suited for restoring worn components such as gear teeth, bearings, shafts, pistons and valve seats, where strength, machinability and resistance to friction are important.

The deposit offers excellent corrosion resistance, high ductility, good friction resistance and strong work-hardening characteristics, making Eagle 1850 FC a versatile maintenance and repair alloy.

Eagle 1850 FC is recommended for:

Designed for applications where strength, machinability and wear resistance are important.

Use a neutral flame.

Clean rust, dirt and grease thoroughly from the parent metal.
Preheat the general area to approximately 700°F, then heat the joint area to approximately 1200°F.

Melt a small amount of flux from the end of the rod and allow it to flow throughout the joint area.

Add Eagle 1850 FC alloy as required.

Allow the workpiece to cool before removing remaining flux residue.

Eagle 1850 FC is a flux-coated nickel silver alloy that produces a strong, ductile and fully machinable deposit.

It offers excellent corrosion resistance, good resistance to friction and the ability to work harden in service, making it particularly useful for rebuilding worn mechanical components.

Why Eagle 1850 FC?

Fully machinable — ideal for components that need to be finished, shaped or machined after repair.

Good work hardening — the deposit can increase in hardness under service conditions.

Excellent corrosion resistance — useful in demanding industrial environments.

Good friction resistance — well suited for bearings, shafts, valve seats and other sliding or contact surfaces.

Strong mechanical properties — approximately 70,000 psi tensile strength with 25–28% elongation.

1850 FC or 500 FC?

Choose Eagle 1850 FC when you need build-up, machinability and wear resistance on steel, alloy steel or cast iron.

Choose Eagle 500 FC when the job is primarily silver brazing/joining, especially where stainless colour match and high-strength brazed joints matter.
