Step 1. Degrease and remove all foreign material

Step 2. Using EAGLE 865 electrode, strike an arc on the center of broken bolt. The molten metal will adhere to the inside diameter of the bolt and will coat the threads with the flux on the electrode.

Step 3. Place a hex nut on top of hole where the stud/bolt is broken using Eagle 822 electrode. 

◊ CAUTION ◊ Weld on two sides only to allow for an open end wrench. Heat generated from the action of welding will help in dislodging the broken bolt.

 

If bolt is broken off down inside the hole, it can still be removed by the following steps:

Step 1. Degrease inside of the hole.

Step 2 Proceed as above in Steps 2 & 3.
