Eagle 180 cast iron is a 200 Bh cast iron build-up product. Whether they are wheel hubs for large equipment, sprockets, or engine parts. Eagle 180 can build up pieces on low welding temps and welds readily in DC+ polarity. Because 180 is machinable, its adaptability has been demonstrated to numerous machine shops. Additionally, big contractors can readily weld cast iron to steel as necessary.
Cast iron that is grey, ductile, and nodular can be welded using this electrode. Great for joining on or building up repairs to machine bases, gear teeth, engine blocks, housings, sprockets, and transmission housings. All deposits can be machined.
On all varieties of cast iron, the EAGLE 180 is a high strength unique alloyed core electrode that will yield porosity-free welds.
Reverse polarity in AC or DC (+). Get the weld area ready and tidy. Make grooves with the EAGLE 188. Aim for a small to medium arc length while using the lowest effective amperage. To minimize heat input, it is advised to use the skip weld process with short weld deposits (1" to 11/2"). Peening while heated can assist in lowering tension. Let the casting cool gradually.
This electrode can be used to weld gray, ductile and nodular cast iron. Excellent for build-up or joining on repairs to engine blocks, housings, sprockets, transmission housings, gear teeth and machine bases. Deposits are fully machinable.
AC or DC reverse polarity (+). Prepare and clean weld area. Groove out cracks using the EAGLE 188. Use lowest effective amperage while maintaining a short to medium arc length. Short weld deposits are recommended (1” - 1 ½”) using the skip weld method to reduce heat input. Peening while hot will help to reduce stresses. Allow casting to cool slowly.
The EAGLE 180 is a high strength special alloyed core electrode that will produce porosity free welds on all types of cast iron.
